About Me

Hello there! I am Dr. Christina Mills, a practicing Psychiatrist and self-taught pastry chef. I am a Native Houstonian, born in the Acres Homes Community, and raised in Greenspoint. I am passionate about cooking, baking in particular. When I was a child, my Mother would force me to help her prepare every
Thanksgiving and Christmas meal. I would beg her to let me sleep in, however, she wouldn’t allow it. My mother taught me to cook everything from scratch, seldom did I see her prepare foods from a box or acan. I learned to love cooking. Eventually, I got to the point where I didn’t need a recipe, I could just go into the kitchen and create something.

At the age of 9, Jesus placed upon my heart, the desire to become a Physician. From that point forward, I spent every waking moment making that dream come true. Initially, I wanted to deliver babies, as an Obstetrician/Gynecologist. However, God led me in a different direction and placed upon my heart the desire to reconcile people’s minds, as a Psychiatrist. I love every aspect of what I do as a Physician. I am incredibly thankful that God has allowed me to be in a position to heal others.

After losing 18 pounds in 2015, in an effort to gain weight, I started baking cupcakes for dessert, with all of my meals. As an act of benevolence, I baked German Chocolate cupcakes, for my ministry leader at Church, and posted a picture on my Facebook Page. My bestfriend asked me if I would bake some cupcakes for him. Soon after, others began to ask the same thing. Friends and family thought I was insane for attempting to start a business while also trying to complete residency. However, I focused on the vision that God gave me. There were many obstacles, so many, that I shut the business down for 18 months, as I battled a severe depression.

In March of 2017, a good friend of mine asked me to bake cupcakes, for her wedding. As soon as I started baking again, the excitement came rushing back. I soon started to create cupcake ideas that I had always envisioned, but couldn’t come up with the right recipes. After a few short months, I decided
to create an entire new line of cupcakes and rebrand as Cupcake Doctor LLC.
My goal is to create cupcakes that you eat today and are still thinking about tomorrow. So that I can put more energy into my cupcake business, I limit the amount of days that I work as a Physician. However, I will continue to practice medicine, as long as the Good Lord tells me to.

It’s more than a cupcake, it’s an
experience
